Google Drive & E-mail Accounts
- 5th and 6th grade students who have received parental permission have been assigned a Colebrook School e-mail address. Their username is the first letter of their first name and their last name @colebrookschool.org. For example, Jane Smith would use jsmith@colebrookschool.org
- Students have individual passwords, but teachers and parents also have those passwords and are able to access student accounts at any time. Parents who need their child's password can e-mail or call the child's teacher.
- These accounts are a privilege that will be taken away if the internet/e-mail usage agreement is not followed.
- In addition to an e-mail address, students have the ability to use their Google accounts to create and store documents. This feature can be accessed by clicking on the Drive option in the black Google menu bar, which is visible after students have signed into their e-mail. Google Drive offers many advantages (saving quickly and automatically, the ability to access documents at home and at school, and the ability to share and collaborate with teachers and peers). Students will learn how to use many of these features at school, and are encouraged to practice at home.
