All About Miss Duquette

My name is Miss Alyssa Duquette, and I am from Goshen, Connecticut. I attended college in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts at Boston College where I received both my Bachelors degree in Human Development and Mathematics/Computer Science as well as my Masters degree in Elementary Education. It was also where I acquired my love for the Boston Red Sox, lobster, and football!

While at Boston College, I was able to work with students in a number of different settings, including an after-school program, a school for students with severe behavioral and emotional needs, and two different elementary schools at which I completed my student teaching. Each and every one of these experiences made me a better teacher, and made me love teaching and working with students even more!

After graduating from BC in May of 2010, I became the Academic Support Paraprofessional for Mathematics at The Botelle School in Norfolk, CT. I worked at Botelle for two years helping students with their mathematics skills and working in a number of different grades and classrooms. In 2012 I began my first year here at Colebrook Consolidated School teaching fifth grade, and in my seventh year transitioned to team teaching fifth and sixth grade with Mrs. Ellison. I have enjoyed focusing on math, science, and social studies this past year and can't wait to do it again this year!

When I teach, just like when I learn, I really love to engage in hands-on experiments and other meaningful learning activities. I plan to bring a lot of these kinds of activities into my classroom, and am looking forward to teaching and learning with all of my students!

Can't wait to see you at school,

Miss Duquette
