Elementary Principal (11 Month)
Starting July 1, 2025
The Colebrook Board of Education is seeking a highly motivated educational leader who can articulate a clear vision for learning and can lead its small and successful rural elementary school to new levels of excellence. The principal has overall responsibility for the operations of
the school.
Position Effective July 1, 2025.
This is an 11 month position (Teacher work year plus 10 days = total 196 days).
Salary Range is $120-126,000 (based on experience) along with a benefits package.
Essential functions: Provides instructional leadership to staff including curriculum planning, review and implementation; and professional development. Responsible for day-to-day school administration and the safety and welfare of both students, staff and activities. Ensures a safe, pleasant and effective educational atmosphere, provides discipline as necessary and enforces school and related district policy
Qualifications:
● A minimum of five years teaching experience; administrative experience
preferred.
● Connecticut Certification for Intermediate Administration and Supervision (092) or
eligibility.
● Effective interpersonal skills in working with elementary school students, their
parents, and school staff.
● Strong planning, organizational and technology skills specific to administrative
tasks.
● An academic background in elementary education, which includes study in the
area of educational administration and teacher evaluation/ supervision
● Promotes collaborative decision-making within the learning community.

SUBSTITUTES FOR TEACHERS AND PARAPROFESSIONALS
These positions are great ways to spend a fun day with wonderful children. Please contact Beth Driscoll for further information or to visit the school. Many times, substituting arrangements are made weeks in advance. You can work when you can.
Substitute Teacher – Must at the minimum have a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject. Teachers will leave detailed lesson plans and other adults are often in the room to provide assistance. Hours are from 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM
Substitute Paraprofessional - Must at minimum obtain a high school diploma. Depending on the position, you may be in one room all day or moving around supporting children in various classrooms. Teachers will assist you with directions and guidelines.
