PTO PIZZA PARTY LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

The PTO provides free pizza, beverage and dessert for all students on the last day of school – Monday, June 17th.

COLEBROOK SCHOOL LIBRARY SUMMER HOURS

The Colebrook School Library will be open on Wednesdays in July – July 10, 17, 24 & 31, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Storytime will be at 10:00 AM. See Library Summer Hours Flyer here.

SUMMER MATH PACKETS/SUPPLY LISTS/TEACHER LETTERS

Summer math packets have been handed out. These packets need to be completed over the summer and returned on the first day of school. If a math packet is lost or missing, you can print another copy from the CCS website – www.colebrookschool.org . Supply lists & teachers’ letters are also on the website. Not Posted Yet but COMING SOON!!!!

SUMMER LETTER/BUS ROUTES

The annual summer letter with bus routes and information on the beginning of school will be mailed out in mid-August. We do not anticipate any major changes in the bus routes at this time.

MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL

If your child has medications here at school, you may pick up all unused medications on June 17, 2019, the last day of school, or you may call the school to make other arrangements. According to State of CT school regulations, all unused and discontinued medications shall be removed from the storage area and either returned to the parent or destroyed. All medications will be destroyed on June 22nd if they have not been picked up or if you have not made other arrangements with the school.

Please remember that if your child will need medication here at school next year, new forms need to be filled out this summer by both you and your health care provider. If your child had medication here at school this year, I have sent a reminder with new medication forms for the upcoming school year home with him/her. Please check backpacks if you did not receive the information.

LOST & FOUND

We have many items in the Lost & Found area in the front hallway of the school. Please check to see if anything belongs to your child. Anything left during the summer will be given to a charity.

FREE SUMMER MEALS FOR ALL CHILDREN 18 AND YOUNGER

The federal Summer Meals Program provides nutritious meals to children and teens at no cost to them at hundreds of locations throughout Connecticut during the summer months when school meals are unavailable. These programs are administered by the Connecticut State Department of Education and provided by local school districts and organizations serving children. Locations and more information will be available on the following website – www.CTSummerMeals.org.

SOCCER REGISTRATION FOR FALL SOCCER

Soccer registration and liability forms were handed out today. Registration is due by August 31st. There will be a $15 late fee for registration after August 31st. If you have any questions, contact Dan Ward at spaero.usmc@sbcglobal.net or 860-309-8544.

COLEBROOK COMMUNITY CENTER NEWS

“A Dog’s Purpose” – Movie & Popcorn – The movie, “A Dog’s Purpose”, is being shown at the Colebrook Community Center on Thursday, June 20th, at 1:15 PM. Children are welcome with an adult.

Kid’s Summer Craft Event – The Colebrook Community Center will be hosting a Kid’s Craft Event each Friday in July from 9:00-11:00 AM. Space is limited so sign up early! See Kid's Craft Event flyer for more information.

Annual Chicken BBQ – The Annual Chicken BBQ will be held at the Community Center on Saturday, June 22nd, from 5:00-7:00 PM. Take-out available. Purchase tickets by stopping by the Community Center or Town Hall or by calling 860-738-9521. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under (if purchased by June 8th, tickets will be $12 for adults and $6 for children).

LIONS CLUB FATHER’S DAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST TO BE HELD JUNE 16TH AT CAMP JEWELL

Everyone is invited to the Colebrook Lions Club Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, June 16TH. The breakfast will be held at Camp Jewell YMCA in the main dining hall between 8:30 and 10:30 AM. Price is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12, and is payable at the door. Proceeds fund scholarships and other local initiatives. Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore Camp Jewell and sign up to be a host family for an international student spending the summer in Colebrook.

75TH COLEBROOK FAIR – AUGUST 31ST

The Annual Colebrook Fair will be on Saturday, August 31st. Celebrating our 75th year! Join us and enjoy Food, Vendors, Tag Sale, Raffles, Children’s Games and Activities, Pet Show, Music, Timbersport Demonstration, Car Show, Cardboard Boat Regatta. Colebrook shines on Fair Day! LUNCH MONEY

Increase in Student Lunch Price for Next Year – Student lunches will cost $3.00 next year. All other prices (snacks, beverages, adult lunches) will remain the same as this year.

Lunch Money Credits – If your child has any credits left on their account for lunches, snacks or beverages, the money will be returned on the last day in an envelope addressed to you. Please be sure to check backpacks if you feel you have any money left on an account.
