Colebrook Consolidated School

Mrs. Ellison's Sixth Grade

                                   Math

Our math program starts with review material at every new skill area.  For example, if we are in a division unit, it begins with division involving basic facts.  It then extends into division with a single divisor and on into two-digit divisors.  Finally, division with decimals in both the divisor and dividend is introduced as a sixth grade skill focus.

The sixth grade curriculum involves the study of decimals and fractions for all operations, percent, ratios, solid geometry, metric applications, positive and negative integers, area, volume measurement, and algebraic expressions.  Strategies for problem solving are discussed and utilized throughout the course of the year.  Writing in math will also be stressed.

Practice your multiplication facts EVERY NIGHT!!!!!
