PTO Meeting Oct 21, 2009

Review of Minutes from May 20 - Motion to approve minutes by Wendy Swartley, second by Erik Shaffer. Treasurer's Report:
Amy Gardner We have switched our account to People's Bank with no fees. Income fall fundraiser profit was $2494.85, plus a $150 donation. Motion to approve Treasurer's report by Wendy Swartley, second by Janice Wald.
Enrichment Program: Kathy Riberdy The next event is a perormance is by Jefferson Hotstixr. The group is comprised of 3rd to 6th
grade percussion performers. Hospitality will provide a snack for the performers. Beth Driscoll requested a gift for the performers decided on a Colebrook booster & a Colebrook pencil.
November brings a presentation & workshop on writing and storytelling by Eshu Bumpus. Old and Ongoing Business:
Kathy Family picnic had a great turnout. We'll start planning for next year's school kickoff event shortly. Jess Maiolo Fall Fundraiser delivery is today, Oct 21st. See Treasurer's report
for profit. Jess will not be the chairperson for the fall fundraiser next year since her child will not be in CCS then. Request for volunteer to take over for 2010/2011.
Karen Odell School Photos family can be added to spring photos. We're still waiting for fall photos to be delivered. Karen Odell Book Fair Sales were down $60 from last year, but free book amount
was up ($190). Profit to school was reduced to 25% this year by Scholastic. Next year free book amount is expected to be $270 which can be spent at the book fair or through the catalog. New Business: Ernie
Marmer Halloween Hot dog & popcorn concessions by PTO, supplies & manpower from 6-8pm using 2-3 people (Jessens, Wests, Riberdys, Swartleys & Bremers all volunteered). Place hot dog concession by lines for hayrides
& bonfire. Fire Dept is donating the use of their popcorn machine & the popcorn. Suggestion to sell popcorn for $1.00 per bag and hot dogs for $2.00 each. Hope Carfiro Merchandise Ordered 150 green
recycling bags sell for $5.00 each or 2 for $8.00. Also ordering BPA free water bottles. Discussed other merchandise to possibly order, more discussion at later date.
Tastefully Simple fundraiser catalog & taste testing to be available Nov 12th in the main hallway during parent/teacher conferences.
Stacy Galpin Town Craft Fair Will have merchandise table at fair on Dec 12th. Wendy Swartley Scripps gift cards will run Nov 4th Dec 3rd. Same three pick up
points as last year (Swartley's, Wald's & Riberdy's) Kathy Riberdy Beautification Fall cleanup is scheduled for Nov 7th from 9-11am. 3rd Grade butterfly garden will be focused on.
Kathy Riberdy Look at other fundraising options at next meeting and how much do we need/want to raise yearly. Communications: Thank you notes from students for Book Fair. Teacher Requests:
