Reading: Our reading program is literature
based. We are using the Scott Foresman series anthology selections for shared reading experiences. These include big books and individual copies for the students. We also use the "Little Celebrations" books
for individual practice. We are also using the Sunshine series from the Wright Group for guided reading groups. Each day we begin with 15 minutes (extended as the year
progresses) of silent reading.
We suppliment our reading series with phonemic awareness games and Phonics
