Greetings Second Graders:
Here is a little information about me:
My interest in education began when I was a young child. I always enjoyed school and learning. Furthermore, I always enjoyed opportunities to work with young children and to share with them my passion for learning. When it came time to choose a career path, making the decision to become a teacher was an easy one.
After graduating high school, I attended Manhattanville College where I graduated summa cum laude and majored in Art History and minored in French. Then, I taught French and Spanish at a private school before deciding to return to school to complete a graduate degree. Reflecting on many of my experiences with children, such as developing and implementing a creative arts program for underprivileged youth and serving as a museum education intern at the Greenwich Historical Society in Cos Cob, CT, I knew that I wanted to become an elementary school teacher. To earn my master's degree in elementary education I enrolled in University of Bridgeport's graduate internship program. Through this program I completed a yearlong internship at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in Waterbury, CT and a 60-day student teaching assignment in a fifth grade classroom at Litchfield Intermediate School in Litchfield, CT. With my university supervisor, Dr. Lori Noto, at University of Bridgeport's Commencement Ceremony, May 2012.
I am so happy to be back teaching second grade at Colebrook Consolidated School for my second year! CCS faculty and students are the best!
